Painting is done!

Finally!!! The painting is finished and the masking tape strip removed! She lookes beautiful. I personally wanted to burn those paint suits, but Luke thought a toxic fire in the boatyard might not be a good idea. So we just came home to recuperate instead! Next is the waxing of the hull (still working on that one....) and then she can go back into the water for easier preparations.

Preparations

Well, it's said that every journey has to have preparation, so here we are. I do prefer a cleaner, less labor intensive preparation. Latitudes is out of the water, propped up in Shroeders' boatyard, on 8 little tripods. We have been living aboard since Monday 3/10/08. First there is the messy job of wet sanding the entire bottom. Then painting the bottom - twice. Next will be waxing the hull. I'm negotiating to have that one contracted out!
