We had a dusting of snow last night. Not like Roanoke got, but it sure is cold. The wind is howling and the temperature is in the upper 30's. burr. We are warm enough in the boat, isolated from the wind. Smokey is curled up in a little cat-knot (head under the tail) on a soft blankie, sound asleep, happy to be with the rest of her family.
Yesterday was cold, too, but not windy. Wanting to stay inside, we opted for an hour-plus ride to Norfolk to visit the Chrysler Museum of Art http://www.chrysler.org/
We loved it! The artwork is just beautiful and the glasswork is overwhelming. Its the personal collection of Walter Chrysler, son of the founder of Chrysler Corp. and it's FREE! We expected a little, home-town free museum, but this is top class. If you're in Norfolk and want to spend a day, we highly recommend the visit. This particular elaborate glass art work amused us - it's a chess set, but the playing pieces are Roman Catholic and Jewish.
I did start Christmas decorations for the boat. A little Santa flag and brightly colored lights outside (can't get a good picture of them)
So much for now. The forecast is looking good for a Wednesday departure, but no promises!

Well, at least you're safe and warm where you are. You will be sailing on your way before long. We had a couple inches of snow on the mountain last night - it 's pretty, and the best kind as it melted off the driveway by noon.
