Here comes the scenery part!

We took a trip today into Roosevelt National Forest, to Brainard Lake.  High here in  Longmont today --- 95.  High at Brainard Lake --- 79...mmm... It's only 38 miles, but the altitude goes up from 4800 ft to almost 13000 ft.  The park area is based around a nice lake.  This brook rumbles through the park, feeding Brainard Lake.

Looking in the other direction, you see Long Lake and the Rockies, in all of their glory.

Circling the park is more of the Rockies, this section complete with a couple of glaciers.

Here is a bit of a close-up of one of the glaciers.

The flowers in the meadows aren't at peak, but they are still bountiful and beautiful.

Luke caught this bee enjoying the goodies.

After  Brainard Lake, we headed for Estes Park.  What a setting for a small town, huh!!!??

One final picture, this one of sweet Kiran, the youngest of the grandchildren.  His parents have a small chicken coop in the backyard, with a few laying chickens.  Kiran likes the chickens...

Taking care of a few chores tomorrow so there probably won't be any sight-seeing.  But there is waaay more to come!
