We spent about a week in Oriental, getting Latitudes ready for the long summer and to get some work done on her. Smoke enjoyed the late afternoons, after all of the workers left, and we had the dock to ourselves for some long walks.
We eventually picked up the car from Jekyll Island, unloaded the boat, and had her hauled. She looks massive out of the water, riding in a travel lift sling.
We got her settled for the summer, spent some time with friends Phyllis and Peter, and headed back home. A few days after we left Oriental, boat buddies Martha and Bill passed through Oriental and caught this shot of Martha and Latitudes.
Smokey has delighted in finding a cat on the TV - Luke videoed her chasing her tail while we were on Latitudes. She absolutely can't resist getting a closer look at the twirling cat!
Now we are preparing the RV for our summer trip. This year we will again go to Colorado to visit Luke's daughters and the grandkids. After that, we'll head north to Glacier National Park. Then to Canada - Calgary for Stampede (with my daughter Heather!), Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, etc. Can't wait!
But the RV looks suspiciously like Lats when we first pack for a voyage....too much stuff to stuff!
The RV is sitting in the driveway, blocking the garage. She is quietly waiting out tropical storm Andrea. The dogwood branches are drooping low with the weight of the heavy rain. Our hope is to leave on Monday - westward, ho!
