The pleasures of being home

Well, I've been negligent - no blogging since we got back home.  It has been a hectic few weeks.  Catching up with friends has certainly taken lots of time (that we love!).  Getting the house back together and ready for fall has taken time (which we don't especially love doing).

Sailing/RV'ing friends Phyllis and Peter came for a few days.  Phyllis and I knit and dyed sock yarn with kool aid!  The yarn still smells slightly like grape kool aid, LOL!

The guys actually make breakfast one day!

Heather and Nikki and I took a "Girls Weekend" off and spent 4 days at a nice mountain lake campground.  That was loads of fun!!!

Toes in the lake - my favorite picture.

Luke finally opted for elective surgery to hopefully rid him of reemerging afib.  That procedure was done at a hospital about 2 hours from us, so we scooped up Smokey and off we all went for 6 days.  Luke was only in the hospital for 1 night but we decided to stay close in case anything went wrong.  It didn't - Luke is feeling great, the surgery seems to have been a success, and all is good.  Smoke was satisfied.  As long as she has a sunny spot, a mousie to kill, and her humans, she's a happy girl.

Fall is certainly coming fast and we're glad to be home to watch the colors.  Planning to go to Asheville NC in a few weeks - should be a beautiful trip!
