Drat!!!

We are still in Deltaville, despite our best plans. Luke's last words to boating friends last night were "we'll be on our way early tomorrow morning unless something breaks on the boat as we leave the slip"... grumble. The "break" didn't wait for this morning. Luke woke up at 2 a.m. and noticed that the forward heat pump unit wasn't working. That's pretty important in December, plus its a lot easier to get something fixed here with a car and slip and all. He did ultimately get it fixed!!! But, #2, the weather has changed. We never leave without checking the weather one last time in the morning. We went from a good forecast for a week (with one iffy day), yesterday, to a nasty forecast starting Sunday through next Thursday, this morning. High wind and waves. So, we decided to stay put in our little waterfront cottage instead of going south for one day and then sitting out the rest of the bad weather probably swinging at anchor, with no reliable heat or electricity.. We have it pretty nice here. So, we retrieved the car and are back at the boat. The weather will obviously set us back a week, but the decision to remain here will really only impact our schedule by about 2 days. After all, we have to sit out the bad weather somewhere.
