Ready to go to Latitudes

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Ours was special - dad, Heather, and Nikki were here for a happy, warm Christmas.  We skyped and talked with kids and grandchildren in CO, and friends were enjoyed - the season was just as I hoped it would be.

Now the house is denuded of Christmas color, with the exception of the new blue mousie that Smoke got for Christmas ----Mousie is VERY much in demand!

If the garage is loaded with bags and boxes, you know it's time to move aboard Latitudes!

The plan is to leave tomorrow and drive south.  Hope it will be warmer!  We will move aboard Latitudes, spend New Year's Eve with Bonnie and Peter in Oriental, NC, and then sail southward as soon as we can get provisioned and such.  There is a good chance that sailing buddies Mimi and Otto will be able to set sail in their boat at the same time!  From the look of the garage, you wouldn't believe there is more to provision, would you!?

Smoke was sleeping...like a cat... on our warm waterbed earlier on "her" soft blanket, new Blue Mousie given a rest also.  A little suspicious of the packing activity, but Smoke decided to ignore it in hopes that ignorance is bliss.

Actually, Smoke likes being on the boat, but the 6 hour car ride is something that she would rather leave to dogs. She will just sleep in the back floorboard or in the passenger's lap while we ride.

This is always a bitter-sweet time for me.  Of course I look forward to our sailing, seeing sailing friends, meeting new people, and spending the winter in the warm beautiful Bahamas.  But I'm always sad at leaving our family and friends for a few months.

Smoke is "helping" me post by sleeping on my lap while I type but Luke is seeming to need a little help with that big pile in the garage. I'll post again when we get to Latitudes!
