On the road again (thanks, Willie) and a tribute to Chuck (my apologies....)

We left our home in Ro'noke Virginia
Colorado on our mind
Straddled that RV
and rolled into Wytheville, and all across Virginia line.

Stopped in Knoxville .....

Yes, this is where we were more than "a minute late"...

Sooooo.....no more than a couple of exits before our Walmart for the night sat a nice looking RV sales company with lots of RV's.  Now, we've been casually looking at them for a few months.  Our Winnebago is 14 years old.  She's been a great RV, but we have been thinking it's time to update her.  Oh, we did.

The old and the new. They are both the same size, 30 feet. Our new (used, 4 years old) RV has a much more updated interior.

Moving day was terrible.  We're taking 11 boxes of Luke's mom's stuff to his girls.  They take up a LOT of space!

But it all got done.  Smokey is not quite sure of the new surroundings.  She surveyed it from as high as possible.

Getting this done has taken a few days and put us behind schedule.  We made up time yesterday - 578 miles - that's a lot for us!  Weather looked bad today.  High winds and rain were in the forecast, so we only drove 200 miles today, to just the edge of the oncoming weather.  Our marine weather forecasting aps were very valuable and accurate in predicting the location and timing of the high winds! You can see the front approaching over the Kansas plains.

We almost made it.  The terrible wind started about 5 minutes before we reached our Walmart in Hays, KS.  The last 5 minutes were awful.  I would have HATED to have driven far in that.  But we are here, all is well, and we'll be in CO with everyone tomorrow afternoon!
