Made it to Longmont and staying busy!

We made it!  Sitting in our site at a state park in Longmont, CO, finally.

After we explored Lake McConaughy (last blog) and returned to our Wal-Mart camping spot,  the REAL view started!  Fireworks!  We had front row seats, literally, as we sat in the cockpit of the RV and watched a great fireworks show from town.

We left the next morning for the last 200 miles to Longmont, but Smokey had decided that enough was enough.  If she sits in the passenger seat and hides, then we can't possibly leave...

Finally to our campsite and a much needed windshield scrubbing!

Dinner with both families at Lisa's on Sunday night.  Here is the view of  the Rockies, with clouds and impending nightfall from Lisa's driveway.

We have stayed busy with both girls and their families.  Unfortunately, we have only the one picture so far of Erin, daughter Evelyn knitting, and son sleepy/crankly-4 year-old Kiran in their pop-up.

The weather has stayed amazingly cool (70's) and dreary so far but we aren't complaining.  Today, if it doesn't actually rain, we plan to go for a little hike up in the Rockies with Erin and family, plus grandson Simon.  We promise to take more pictures this time...
